Asian TV
“Gaijin (Foreigners) in Japanese television are mostly used for historical re-enactments – For “Unbelievable” and “Sekai Gyouten”, I played a range of famous characters- Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in Great Britain, Doris Stokes, the psychic who predicted the identity of The Yorkshire Ripper, Lady Emma Hamilton, the Virgin Mary- even, a witch burned at the stake in the Middle Ages. We were given the English script on the day, worked with a translator and an all- Japanese crew. A challenge!”
One day I was asked to audition for a series of promotional commercials for Kansai TV in Osaka. Little did I know I would spend the entire time in front of camera wearing a series of styrofoam duck heads – couldn’t see a thing ! This one has a tear dripping down my “face” to promote TV drama shows.”
